If Unemployment Benefits Expire - Expect Even More Job Hunters

One way to look at being unemployed is imagine you are a fish swimming in a lake. Everyday, fisherman try to pluck the fish from the lake & therefore leaving some fish in the pond for the next day. If fisherman = jobs .... chances are these days you have a 90%+ chance at swimming another day.

Now imagine if a local fish hatchery dumped 10,000 new fish in the lake ... your chances of being caught by a hungry fisherman go down even further!

Now back to reality, many people in Washington (the fools that control unemployment payments) want these payments to expire much sooner than they are now. They are finding studies that show if you cut off people's unemployment benefits, they often find work faster.

We know this in California as "Milking Unemployment"

You might be doing this yourself, or you might have friends that get weekly checks for being unemployed. Most of them are probably not out looking for a job, considering they have wages coming in anyway.

Now imagine if they all were looking for a job? If you can't find a job right now, imagine if everyone on unemployment stopped getting paid. What percentage do you think would be looking for a job the next day because they never saved any of the money they got from the unemployment benefits?

100%

The urgency to find a new job should be your #1 priority everyday you wake up in the morning. Remember, the number of fishermen (employers) is probably not going to go up quickly. However, the number of fish (job seekers) is going up daily, and will go up exponentially if the conservatives in Washington get their way but cutting unemployment benefits much sooner than the current time.
